La pérdida de audición es la tercera enfermedad crónica más común experimentado por los adultos mayores de 65 años. Se sabe que contribuyen a problemas tales como el aislamiento social, y la depresión. Esto afectaría a la capacidad de una persona de edad para disfrutar de muchas de las actividades recomendadas para mantenerlos interesados ​​en su comunidad.
